Armenia is one of the oldest wine-producing nations in the world, with evidence of wine making going back 6000 years. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union there has been renewed interest in making table wine, and recognition of the importance of their indigenous grape varieties. There is a new determination to combine the excellent high altitude terroir and climate with international winemaking skills to produce a range of new wines - now truly world class. This is the cutting edge of wine-making.
