Garagiste, Le Stagiare Chardonnay, Mornington Peninsula, Australia

Regular price £24.99

Small-batch Chardonnay from the renowned cool climate Mornington Peninsula - complex with refreshing acidity.

When we first heard of Garagiste, we were told that you couldn't meet a nicer guy than Barney Flanders. It turns out that not only was that true but sometimes the nice guys do win out! With a string of eye-watering scores from Mr Halliday, Garagiste is one of the most exciting producers in the Mornington Peninsula, defined by their small-batch Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. With focus on specific sites and sub-regions at the heart of what they do, coupled with the use of natural yeasts and no fining or filtration, it's little surprise that the wines display a detail and texture that marks them out as beautifully crafted.

Tasting Note: The nose bursts of citrus, almond, clove, delicate natural acidity and minerality. The wine is pure and lean with white flower and citrus aromas and some savory spiced oak complexity. Long and focussed on the palate, with refreshing natural acidity.

Critics: “All the wines are exceptional.” James Halliday (The Australian), Jancis Robinson 16.5/20 (average producer score)
