Retsina at another level - Full bodied, full flavoured and yet still refined and quite delicious
“Aoton” in ancient Greek defines the “finest specimen of its class” and represents a winery dedicated to the production of fine wines in the same location where three generations ago, the family winery “Patitiri” was the community’s local press of grapes from the surrounding vineyards.
In the heart of Mesogeia, the middle landplane between Athens and the Eastern coast of Attica, in Spata, Sotiris Gkinis, a dedicated oenologist himself, has revived the 10- ha large family vineyard, which is producing low yield, high-quality fruit.
The producer is meticulous with the harvest and that is why all their grapes are picked at night to maintain good levels of acidity and finesse in the final wine.
Tasting Note: The flavour of resin combined with the rich consistency of Savatiano grape variety, offers an unforgettable pleasure and distinctive taste. Ageing potential is up to 8-10 years. This wine is recommended with Greek cuisine, Seafood and Japanese cuisine.
