Northern Greece - Macedonia and Thrace

Northern Greece is essentially a wet, continentally influenced region consisting of Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus. Of these Macedonia is by far the best source of quality wines. Macedonia is the source of a number of important Greek grapes varieties (notably Xinomavro), but also grows some excellent examples of international varietals, which also feature in some quality blends.
