Delicious red from an exciting, little known corner of Tuscany. Sangiovese blend, bursting with juicy red fruit and spice.
Bastianich is located in Friuli and specialises in local grapes such as Friulano and Ribolla Gialla. The house style is very fresh and crisp with lots of aromatic fruit, making the wines ideal for a wide range of foods and cuisines. The wines are already rated amongst the top in the region with Vespa Bianco having been awarded Tre Bicchieri in the Gambero Rosso no fewer than 6 times! Joe also owns La Mozza based in Tuscany. The bold intense wines are the perfect foil to the fresh flavours of Friuli. 20-30% of the wine is aged in French barriques and 70-80% is aged in stainless steel. Longer than usual maceration and indigenous yeasts used.
Tasting Note: This medium-bodied red wine is soft and juicy, with flavours of plum, cherry and liquorice.
