Hedgerow fruits and hints of olives, with a juicy palate and bitter hints
Bisceglia Winery was founded in 2001 by Mario Bisceglia. The goal is to value the peculiarities of the territory of volcanic origin and to produce world class wines made with both indigenous and international varietals grown in Southern Italy. Volcanic origin makes the difference for obtaining the best quality of Aglianico del Vulture DOC. The Estate is comprised of forty hectares of vines in the heart of the Aglianico DOC appellation, which include the local varieties Aglianico and Moscato and as well as a selection of international vine varieties (Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay). Moreover, Bisceglia produces native grapes from Campania Region (Falanghina IGT Benventano) and Puglia Region (Primitivo IGT). The climate is Mediterranean with mild winters and hot summers, helping grape colour and polyphenolic complexity.
Tasting Note: A ripe, juicy Aglianico with perfumed black cherry, blackberry and olives on the nose. The palate is soft and fresh with a good balance between savoury, ripe tannins and dark, slightly bitter fruits.
