The Gascon Classic crisp, fruit driven white - Colombelle
Producteurs Plaimont (established 1979) is a forward-thinking co-op, actually a grouping of five co-ops, based in the town of St-Mont about 50 km north of Pau in SW France. This ultra-reliable winery, which has an admirable focus on polishing the finer characters of the region's local grapes, consistently produces wines of character and charm across a huge range of styles and prices.
Tasting Note: A pale colour enlivened with green tints. An intensely fresh and fruity bouquet dominated by yellow and white fruit aromas with notes of citrus fruit (grapefruit) and passion fruit. The mouth is firm and lively yet fruity, quaffable and full of the same aromas as the nose with the addition of a floral touch and a crisp, lemony finish.
