Consitently producing some of the top wines in Spain's Ribera del Duero, a complex Tempranillo/Merlot blend.
Juan Luis Cañas and Juan José Iribecampos were great friends before joining forces to take on the challenge of producing top wine from Ribera del Duero together - so much so that the name Cair is an amalgamation of the first two letters of their respective surnames. Based in Ribera del Duero, Cair embraces the innovative viticultural and winemaking techniques found in its sister wineries.
Tasting Note: Garnet in colour with intense, complex and inviting aromas of ripe berry fruit, preserve, raisins and caramel notes. Dairy nuances over a slightly smoky background and a hint of jam and spice. Easy drinking style but full bodied, fleshy, silky smooth with sweet and polished tannins.
Critics: Jancis Robinson 15.5/20 (2012), In a blind tasting of all 2008 vintages from Ribera del Duero, Cair came out on top beating some of the most revered wines from the region!
