Delicious, rich, introduction to Dry Riesling.
Based in the 'chocolate box' pretty village of Riquewihr in the heart of Alsace the firm of Dopff & Irion has a long history dating back to the 16th century when the two families came together. When René Dopff became head of the firm in 1945 he dropped the old winemaking techniques and the traditional, illegible gothic script on the labels and set the tone for the forward looking company that exists to this day. Environmentally friendly vineyard regimes, state of the art winemaking technology, even screwcaps! Contains Sulphites.`
Tasting Note: Sweet stone fruit and almonds, fresh zippy mouthful, but rich length following. Decent length... This is why we love Riesling. Great introduction...
