Delicate, long white Mercurey from the heart of Burgundy
With 90 hectares of vines in various plots on the Côte d'Or and the Côte Chalonnaise, Château de Santenay is one of the largest properties in Grande Bourgogne. The diversity of these ‘climats’ enables the château to produce a wide variety of wines whose characters reveal the nuances of the Burgundy varietals.
While the nature of the soil is the deciding characteristic of a terroir, the role of the winegrower is a determining factor in the production of the wine: in the vineyard this is reflected in the choice and implementation of growing techniques, from pruning through to the harvest; and in the winery, in the vinification and maturing of the wines.
Tasting Note: Beautiful gold pale robe, brilliant. The nose is intense with touches of fresh fruits (citrus fruit – apricot) with an elegant fresh hazelnut touch. The mouth is delicate, intense in flavor, really taut, mineral. A beautiful delicacy with soft fruity touches. The balance is perfect, with a long final. An expressive wine, delicate, solar, luminous.
