Special red blend from Armenia's iconic Areni and Khndoghni grapes, from high altitude Armenian vineyards
6,200 years after the first glass of wine was sipped in Armenia, Karas revives ancient tradition by bringing you a revolutionary blend of indigenous grapes from Areni and Artsakh
Karas has more than 400 hectares of vineyards. Eduardo Eurnekian’s Armavir Vineyard is intertwining the expertise of being an old world wine leader with the latest technology and is leading the way with a unique vision, massive investment, and innovation.
The vineyards are located at an average altitude of 1100 metres above sea level in the west of the Armavir region.
The soil characteristics are mainly volcanic and the rich loam also contains a stony texture ideally suited for the production of highly concentrated wines . Both international and indigenous varietals are planted in the vineyards which are cultivated with modern techniques together with an individual approach for each varietal, aiming to develop the potential of each. Gabriel Rogel from Argentina is the chief winemaker with Michel Rolland from France consultant winemaker.
Tasting Notes: Notes of cherries and violets come together to form a deep, purple, medium body. Fresh and complex, Areni-Khndoghni reminds us that in order to build a future, we must first look to the pas
