Superb red showing the beauty, finesse, and longevity of Agiorgitiko grown at elevation
The Domaine Skouras was established in 1986. Over the years, it has created a disciplined, innovative and serious wine-producing presence. The company owns two wineries in the Peloponnese, in the well-known region of Nemea. Owner George Skouras studied wine making in Dijon, before returning and dedicating himself to exploring the potential of the famed Agiorgitiko grape.
Grown in Corinthia at 1,040 m on red clay soil, rich in minerals. Old vines, on average 24 years old.
Tasting Note: The color is bright, clean, deep ruby color. On the nose it has depth, strength and density. The aromatic character is focused on red fruits – sour cherries, blueberries, red cherries – along with spice, aromatic herbs and a touch of minerality. On the palate it is medium to full bodied with interesting acidity and very high quality tannins, while aromas of red fruits, earth and metal together with tobacco and spices dominate. The aftertaste is long, complex with constant evolution.
