Star of Eger, the white compliment to Bulls Blood, delightly perfumed and delicate

The philosophy of the family-owned, multi-award-winning St. Andrea winery is to create expressive wines of character by combining a traditional approach with modern winemaking methods. Their main focus is on indigenous varieties while paying the utmost attention to the uniqueness of individual terroirs and vineyards. By putting their heart and soul into crafting each bottle, the father-and-son team at St. Andrea is providing you with wines of outstanding quality that reflect the great potential of the Eger region.

Egri Csillag is a recent innovation from the Eger wine region in northern Hungary. The first samples were made in 2010, in an attempt to present the market with a white sister wine to the famed red blend, Egri Bikavér (Bull's Blood). Blended from an array of indigenous and international grape varieties, Egri Csillag gives winemakers a free hand to create their own idea of a youthful, refreshing and easy-drinking white.

Tasting Note: The nose on this Egri cuvée boasts orchard fruit, citrus, honey and delectable mineral notes. The palate continues with pear, apple, peach and the addition of grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine acidity, culminating in a strong mineral finish.
