
A rare variety saved from extinction, elegant ripe fruit and velvety palate reminiscent of a Northern Rhone Syrah
Tetramythos is a boutique winery situated at Ano Diakopto of Egialia, on the slopes of mount Aroania, in north Peloponnese. The vineyards (14 ha) are situated at an altitude of 600-1050m, are cultivate with organic method and due to the mesoclimate, the soil and the exposure to the Gulf of Korinthos breeze, as well the cultivation technics, provide excellent grape quality.
A variety Tetramythos saved from extinction 15 years ago. Organic and minimal-intervention wine produced from north-facing and cool-climate traditional bush vines, 36 years old, at 850 m, on the Pteri plateau, Aigialeia region. Cultivated in clay soils, non-irrigated, low yields. Only the free-run must, spontaneous fermentation at 24 °C, and spontaneous malo. Extraction for 2 weeks. Ageing in big oak tanks of 5,000 litres for 5 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulphite addition
Tasting Note: Vivid ruby color, aromas of cherry, violet, spices and skin. Medium-Volume mouthsense, with a botanical character, while its characteristic tannins give it a long aftertaste.
